We understand the demands of a therapist in skilled nursing and want our therapists to have more time to focus on patient care.
Pay: $34-$38 per hour +/ DOE
Responsibilities:
- Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per OT Board.
- Treat patients per the physician treatment plan.
- Assist nursing department with training of Restorative Aides.
- Communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans.
- Participate in in-services training programs for staff.
- Record evaluations, treatment notes, recertification documentation, and treatment changes per policies and regulations.
- Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in maintenance and caregiver training for discharge.
- Participate in discharge planning.
- Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area.
- Report equipment problems to ensure proper maintenance.
- Relate positively and effectively with patients, families, staff, and colleagues.
Qualifications:
- Licensed as a Staff Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state.
- Proficient in computer skills, including programs like Casamba and Point Click Care.
- Ability to read technical procedures and policy manuals.
- Effective communication skills with managers, coworkers, and families.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to interpret instructions.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Licensed as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the state.
- Maintain continuing education requirements and licensure in good standing.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, talking, and hearing.
- Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Ability to exert force as needed to move objects.
Work Environment:
- Low to moderate noise level.
