Pinewood Health & Rehabilitation in Kentucky is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work under the supervision of a licensed OT, delivering skilled therapy to residents to improve daily living activities and independence.

You will implement treatment plans, guide residents through therapeutic activities, document progress, educate families, and collaborate with the OT and care team to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current and valid certification/licensure as a COTA.
  • CPR certification required (or must obtain upon hire).
  • Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans designed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Provide occupational therapy interventions including therapeutic activities, ADL training, adaptive equipment use, and functional mobility tasks.
  • Document residents’ treatments, progress, and response to interventions in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
  • Communicate regularly with the supervising OT regarding residents’ progress and recommend modifications to treatment plans when appropriate.
  • Educate residents, families, and caregivers on exercises, adaptive strategies, and home safety techniques to promote continued independence.
  • Adhere to facility policies, professional standards of practice, and all state and federal regulations.
