Job summary

Solaris HealthCare Zephyrhills is seeking a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to deliver compassionate therapy to our residents. You must be licensed in Florida (or eligible) and have completed an ACOTE-accredited OTA program.

This flexible PRN role fits a clinician who values patient-centered care and teamwork. The position requires AHCA Clearinghouse background screening and offers supportive colleagues, an on-site facility, shift differentials, and opportunities to grow

Qualifications

• ACOTE-accredited OTA program completion.
• Florida license or eligibility to practice as a COTA.
• Prior OTA experience preferred.
• Membership in AOTA preferred.
• Professional attitude and appearance.
• Proficient administrative and public relations skills.
• Knowledge of Medicare/third-party reimbursement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide PRN occupational therapy services to residents per treatment plans.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Collaborate with OT and rehab staff to optimize resident outcomes.
• Document care and update treatment plans as needed.
• Ensure safety and infection control during therapy sessions.

• Successful completion of an accredited occupational therapy assistant education program recognized by the American Occupational Therapy Association’s Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE), or its successor.
• Must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of Florida.
• Prior experience in Occupational Therapy preferred.
• Membership in state and national American Occupational Therapy Association organizations preferred.
• Professional attitude and appearance.
• Proficient administrative and public relations skills.
• Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, and equipment used in occupational therapy.
• Thorough knowledge of potential hazards to patients during treatment and necessary precautionary and remedial measures.
• Training in the use of prescriptive devices, including electrical stimulation and ultrasound, preferred.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and obtain their cooperation with prescribed treatment plans.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with medical staff and other personnel.
• Demonstrate emotional stability to cope with the demands of working with both patients and employees.
• Must maintain patient and employee confidentiality.
• Knowledge of Medicare and third-party reimbursement preferred.
