Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Job Summary:

The occupational therapy assistant performs patient-related activities. Services may include but are not limited to purposeful activities or interventions to maximize independence and maintain health for individuals limited by physical injury or illness, cognitive impairment, psychosocial dysfunction, mental illness, developmental or learning disability, or adverse environmental conditions.

Major Duties and Critical Tasks:

• Assist the occupational therapist during tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.
• Observe, record, and report to the therapist the condition, reactions, and responses related to assigned duties.
• Assist the therapist in consulting with patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
• Help with the care of the occupational therapy department and equipment.
• Support in-service programs and other meetings as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Certification.
• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
