Job description

We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team in Montgomery, AL. This full-time position offers the opportunity to assist Occupational Therapists in delivering high-quality care to patients in need of rehabilitation and functional improvement. The ideal candidate will be compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to enhancing patients independence in daily activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans to help patients improve mobility, self-care, and daily living skills.

  • Provide hands-on therapy, including therapeutic exercises, adaptive equipment training, and functional activity interventions.

  • Educate patients and their families on techniques to enhance independence in daily tasks.

  • Monitor patient progress and report observations to the supervising Occupational Therapist.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress in electronic medical records (EMR).

  • Ensure compliance with all facility policies, ethical standards, and state regulations.

Qualifications:
  • Associate s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

  • Current Alabama COTA license or eligibility for licensure.

  • CPR certification (preferred).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Previous experience in a clinical setting (rehabilitation, geriatrics, or home health experience preferred).

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
