Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for Hand Therapy

Calling local certified occupational therapy assistants (COTA) looking for per diem hours! Check out Select Physical Therapy in Carrollwood!! We are seeking per diem Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants with a minimum of one year of experience in hands for as needed coverage in our outpatient location. In lieu of experience, COTA's who completed hand clinical with Select Medical in 2024, APPLY! We have additional hand therapists on staff able to support an occupational therapist or a certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) in our upbeat team environment.

We are seeking an occupational therapist to treat various upper extremity disorders ranging from tendon injuries, sprains- strains, post- operative fractures, etc. Our population is primarily orthopedic injuries with referrals from hand and orthopedic surgeons.

Best practices and evidence-based programs are utilized for individualized patient care. You will work closely with a (large) group of CHTs, working togetherin the region for support, education and schedule coverage. Our clinics are fully equipped to provide care to patients ranging from post-surgical, non-operative to work conditioning. You will have the opportunity to work closely with excellent hand surgeons. Hours Needed:As Needed Mon - Fri

Responsibilities
  • Under the direction of the licensed occupational therapist, optimize the functional abilities and skills of patients.
  • Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality patient care services.
  • Observe, note, and report on the progress of long and short-term treatment goals
  • Ensure proper documentation of patient care.
  • Maintain professional standards through compliance with quality assurance policies/ procedures as well as applicable regulations and corporate policies
Qualifications
  • Must be a graduate of an ACOTA accredited occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program
  • National registration and state COTA licensure or registration REQUIRED
  • Must have previous 1 year experience working with hand therapy patients. In leiu of experience, COTA who completed fieldwork with Select Physical Therapy in 2024 is eligible.
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Valid state driver’s license
