A current Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) license by the State is REQUIRED. Experience is preferred, but we are accepting new grads.

Qualifications for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA):
  • Successful completion of an accredited educational program for occupational therapy assistants recognized by the Board of Occupational Therapy Practice, accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association’s Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education or its successor
  • Must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice as an occupational therapy assistant in Florida
  • Prior experience in occupational therapy preferred
  • Member of the state and national American Occupational Therapy Association preferred
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Proficient administrative and public relations skills
  • Thorough knowledge of principles, methods, materials, and equipment used in occupational therapy
  • Knowledge of hazards to patients during treatment and necessary precautions
  • Training in the use of prescriptive devices (electrical stimulation, ultrasound) preferred
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients and medical staff
  • Emotional stability to cope with patient and employee demands
  • Maintain patient and employee confidentiality
  • Knowledge of Medicare and third-party reimbursement preferred
