Job summary

Trilogy Health Services is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide therapy under the supervision of an OT across campus locations, home health, and outpatient care, with travel as required within the territory.

You will document patient progress, collaborate with the OT and care team, and assist in educating patients and families while contributing to cost-effective, quality care. Ongoing licensure and professional standards are expected.

Qualifications

• Under supervision of an occupational therapist, delivers therapeutic interventions in campus, home health, and outpatient settings.
• Addresses patient progression and communicates with the care team.
• Documents patient care progress and updates treatment plans as needed.
• Supports education delivery to patients and families and participates in training.
• Maintains licensure requirements and adheres to professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Provides therapeutic interventions as directed by the occupational therapist.
• Evaluates patient response to treatment and reports to the care team.
• Documents course of patient care including progress and need for treatment.
• Collaborates with the OT to develop new education methods for patients and families.
• Assists in providing in-service/cross-training on OT knowledge and skills.
• Contributes to cost-effective care delivery.
• Travels to other campus locations and home health assignments as needed.
• Complies with resident rights per policy.
• Maintains professional competencies and participates in survey preparation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Responsible for providing, under the direction of an occupational therapist, therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards. Demonstrates accountability for and contributes to program development, quality improvement, problem solving and performance enhancement in a flexible interdisciplinary environment

• Provides therapeutic interventions as directed by the occupational therapist in campus locations, home health and/or outpatient care.


• Evaluates patient response to treatment and provide feedback to the rest of the team.


• Documents the course of patient care including progress made and continuing need for treatment.


• Collaborates with the occupational therapist to develop new methods of delivering education to patients and family.


• Assists the occupational therapist in providing team members with in-service/cross-training on occupational therapy knowledge and skill areas as needed.


• Contributes to the delivery of cost-effective care.


• Reports any complaints and/or grievances made by the residents to the Rehab Program Director or Director of Health Services. Reports incidents or suspected incidents of resident abuse to the Rehab Program Director/Director of Health Services and/or the Executive Director immediately.


• Travel, as needed, to other campus locations and/or to home health assignments in the designated territory.


• Complies with all resident rights per the company's Resident Rights Policy.


• Maintains professional/technical competencies and proficiencies for job responsibilities.


• Participates in survey preparation activities.


• Other duties as assigned.

Education: Associate DegreeExperience: 0-1 years

Licenses and CertificationsMust have and maintain a current, valid state OTA licensure or certification

Current valid CPR certification, preferredTravel: Yes. Minimally, as required (Typically less than 10%)
