Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation in Temple, TX is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for inpatient, full-time work. The OTA assists with implementing therapy plans and coordinates with the supervising OT to ensure care is effective.

Qualified candidates must hold or be eligible for state licensure as a COTA and have or obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days. The role supports patient education and collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist (OT), and in accordance with state practice guidelines, the Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) , assists with the implementation of the therapy plan of care. The OTA is responsible for delegation and direction of supportive personnel for those assigned patients, in order to enhance patient care services. The OTA, consistently communicates with supervising OT in regard to scheduled patients to ensure identification of need for assessment and reassessment of patients, modification of treatment plans and other interventions requiring therapist direction. Additionally, the OTA participates in education of patients, families, students, coworkers and self. The OTA may also perform other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, within the scope of practice.

• Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required or as required by state regulations.
