Qualifications

Job Summary: The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, provides therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment, consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices, and ethical standards.

Licenses and Certifications: Must hold and maintain a current, valid state OTA licensure or certification. Current valid CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications:

• Education: Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program
• Experience: 0-1 years

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in executing treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, including therapeutic exercises, activities of daily living (ADL) training, and other interventions.
2. Help patients with exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques to improve their functional abilities and independence.
3. Observe and document patients' responses to therapy, track progress, and report findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
4. Provide education and guidance to patients and their families on home exercises, adaptive techniques, and strategies to support continued progress.
5. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
6. Support Occupational Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing additional observations and insights.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.
