Job summary

HealthPro Heritage is seeking a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide outpatient therapy in an assisted living setting in Columbus, IN. The role focuses on delivering individualized treatment plans, monitoring progress, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to support residents’ daily living activities.

The position requires NBCOT certification, state licensure, and an associate degree in occupational therapy assisting.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an accredited school.
• NBCOT certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Current state licensure (or eligibility) to practice as a COTA.
• Experience in an occupational therapy setting preferred; new grads encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care & Treatment Implementation: Deliver individualized therapy based on plans developed by the OT, including daily living activities.
• Progress Monitoring & Documentation: Track patient progress and maintain records per facility policies; report changes to the OT.
• Collaboration & Patient Education: Work with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic care and educate patients and families on exercises and adaptive equipment.
• Therapeutic Activities & Support: Lead or assist patients with exercises and ADLs, fostering a positive environment for engagement.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an accredited school.
• Certification: Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
• Licensure: Current state licensure (or eligibility) to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Experience: Previous experience in an occupational therapy setting (hospital, clinic, school, etc.) is preferred, but new graduates are also encouraged to apply.
