Job Summary

Begin your career journey with us and start changing lives today as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to improve residents' quality of life and ability to perform daily activities by assisting with therapy activities and exercises scheduled in a treatment plan. This role offers opportunities to develop skills such as problem-solving, communication, and creativity while delivering holistic care as a COTA.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide, monitor, and record services to patients/residents with physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial impairments.
  2. Select, implement, and modify activities and interventions aligned with demonstrated competency levels and goals.
  3. Exchange information with and document activities for the occupational therapist.
  4. Be knowledgeable about the patient's/resident's targeted occupational therapy outcomes.

Qualifications

  1. Appropriate education level as per state licensure requirements.
  2. Licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state(s) of practice.
  3. Preferred: Certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant through NBCOT when working at Sanford Health Facilities.
  4. Conforms to supervision and licensing standards of the state(s) where services are provided.
  5. Valid driver's license if applicable.
  6. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment.
