Oakhurst Healthcare Center is looking for a committed and patient-focused Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support patient well-being, rehabilitation, and recovery by providing direct support to an occupational therapist. You will help assist patients with physical, mental, emotional, or social limitations to improve their quality of life and independence. You will offer effective and client-centered services that will enable people to confidently and independently carry out everyday tasks or activities. The community of Oakhurst is located only 14 miles to the south entrance to Yosemite National Park where boundless outdoor activities and history await.

The primary purpose of the position is to ensure the highest quality of resident care available, support staff and establish a positive reputation in the community while delivering on the Operating Company Eduro HealthCare's values of wellness, compassion, customer experience, and company results.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required. Education and Experience

  1. Must hold current and active OTA license or registration in state employed
  2. Minimum one (1) year experience working with adults in a health care setting preferred

Language Skills

  1. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform required duties.
  2. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  3. Bi-lingual skills welcome

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  1. Completion of orientation required by company policy.
  2. Health screening and TB test within two weeks of employment.
  3. Mandatory drug test upon hire.
  4. Must be free of criminal activity proven by a criminal background check.
  5. Become familiar with and comply with all local, state, and federal regulations relating to the job.
  6. Show within three (3) days of hire satisfactory evidence of identity and eligibility for employment.

Physical Demands

  1. Frequently move about the facility.
  2. Frequently assist patients with exercises.
  3. Must be able to rapidly assist in the evacuation of all residents from the building in case of emergency.
