Job summary

Cayuga Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to work under the direction of Occupational Therapists and the Director of Therapy. The role includes delivering comprehensive therapy, documenting progress, and supporting the rehab team in a busy clinical setting.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy, pass NBCOT as a COTA, and hold a current OTA license or be license-eligible in the state.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Successful passage of NBCOT COTA examination.
• Current OTA license (or license-eligible) in state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of an OTR according to state guidelines.
• Document patient's progress on weekly progress notes in a timely manner.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by supervisor.
• Complete billing logs and bill patients ethically and accurately for occupational therapy services rendered.
• Cover other therapists’ patient caseload during absences as necessary.
• Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, facility staff, patients and families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care or occupational therapy services to rehab staff and communities as needed.
• Adhere to confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights; report to work on time and maintain professional image.
• Meet productivity requirements and submit productivity reports timely.
• Foster positive relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and managers.

**$2000 Sign on Bonus Available** We are looking for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to work under the direction and supervision of Occupational Therapists as well as the Director of Therapy.

Typical work duties: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants typically do the following:

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of an OTR and according to state guidelines
• Document patient’s progress on weekly progress note in an accurate and timely fashion
• Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by supervisor
• Complete billing logs and bill patients ethically and accurately for occupational therapy services rendered
• Cover other therapists’ patient caseload during absence as necessary
• Maintain professional relationship with co-workers, facility staff, patients and patient families
• Provide inservice education regarding patient care or occupational therapy services to rehab staff, facility staff, hospitals and/or community as needed
• Comply with patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights
• Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours, and project a professional image at all times
• Adhere to productivity requirements, complete productivity reports and submit in a timely manner
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating and communicating in a professional manner so as to foster positive relations with customers, clients, co-workers and managers
• Perform all other duties assigned by the department supervisor, lead therapist or regional manager

Requirements:

• A minimum of an Associates degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
