Job summary

WelbeHealth in San Jose, CA seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our Rehabilitation team. You will help implement care plans and support participants in ADLs, at the center and in their homes.

We emphasize collaboration, long-term participant relationships, and a balanced workload. Requires OTA degree and California license (or eligibility). We offer base pay plus bonus, comprehensive benefits, PTO, holidays, 401(k) match, and unlimited CEUs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Rehabilitation team to implement activities and programs based on treatment plans.
• Handle scheduling of participants’ treatments, clinical visits, and billing.
• Document occupational therapy interventions per care plans including device use and activity guidance.

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) is a key member of the IDT, collaborating with other members of the Rehabilitation team to implement care plans and providing condition updates to the clinical team. Under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, the COTA provides restorative and rehabilitative occupational therapy services to participants at the center and in their homes to maximize independence, safety, and performance of ADLs.

On the day-to-day, you will:

• Administer participant treatment programs as established by the Occupational Therapist
• Assist the Occupational Therapist in obtaining vital signs, ranges of motion, and strength testing
• Coordinate with other members of the Rehabilitation team to implement activities and programs based on participants’ individual treatment plans
• Handle scheduling of participants’ treatments, clinical visits, and billing
• Document occupational therapy interventions in accordance with established care plans including but not limited to the use of devices, techniques, and activities to promote muscle re-education, perceptual-motor and cognitive function, balance, and endurance, and other factors affecting independence in performing ADLs

Job requirements include:

• Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) associate’s degree from an accredited program
• Valid California OTA license, or proof of license eligibility
• OTA knowledge necessary to treat frail, elderly participants with complex needs
