Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, GA is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. The COTA will help patients regain independence by improving daily living activities and mobility after illness, injury, or surgery.

The role is full-time, days shift, 8 hours per day, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities to develop clinical skills in a supportive hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Association Degree (COTA) from an accredited program.
• Current state Occupational Therapy certification.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• NBCOT certification, AOTA and OTAC membership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Occupational Therapist, provides prescribed therapeutic services to restore and prevent disability.
• Assist patients with mobility, coordination, strength, and activities of daily living.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the Occupational Therapist and care team.
• Educate and support patients and families throughout the rehabilitation process.
• Adhere to hospital policies and regulatory requirements during therapy services.

We are seeking aCertifiedOccupational Therapy Assistant(COTA),sometimes referred to as anOccupational Therapy Assistant(COTA)orOccupational Therapist Assistant.Our Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will work under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist. TheCertified Occupational Therapy Assistant helps patients improve their ability to complete everyday activities, regain independence, and safely progress through recovery after illness, injury, surgery, or hospitalization.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Within scope of practice and under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist, provides prescribed therapeutic services in order to restore and prevent disability for clients, or patients with musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and cardiopulmonary disorders.
• Performs responsibilities in accordance with departmental and Hospital policies, state and federal regulatory requirements: Title 22 Section 70517, 70519.
• Provide occupational therapy treatments according to established plans of care
• Assistpatients with mobility, coordination, strength, and daily living activities
• Monitor patient progress andcommunicatechanges to the Occupational Therapist and care team
• Educate and support patients and families throughout the rehabilitation process
• Provides prescribed therapy services to help restore function and prevent disability while following hospital policies and regulatory requirements
