Job summary

Litchford Falls Health & Rehabilitation Center in Raleigh, NC is seeking a qualified Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team. You will provide skilled OT services under supervision to help residents regain independence and quality of life.

You will implement treatment plans, support residents with ADLs, and educate families on techniques to maintain progress after discharge.

Qualifications

  • Active unencumbered NC COTA license.
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited OTA program.
  • NBCOT certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled occupational therapy to residents under supervision of a licensed OT.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans to help residents achieve rehabilitation goals.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs): dressing, bathing, grooming, feeding, and toileting.
  • Administer therapeutic activities, exercises, and modalities to improve fine motor skills, upper extremity function, coordination, and strength.
  • Train residents on adaptive equipment, assistive devices, and compensatory techniques to promote independence.
  • Explain procedures and treatments to gain residents’ cooperation and alleviate apprehension.
  • Monitor resident progress and communicate observations and treatment outcomes to the supervising OT.
  • Maintain residents’ medical records with thorough documentation of treatments and progress.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and rehabilitation goals.
  • Educate residents and families on therapeutic techniques, safety precautions, and post-discharge strategies.
  • Observe emotional stability of residents and prepare them for continuing care after discharge.
  • Perform other duties as required to provide exceptional care.

What You'll Do

  • Observes emotional stability of residents, expresses interest in their progress, and prepares them for continuing care after discharge.

  • Perform other duties as required to provide exceptional care to each resident.

What You Need
  • Active unencumbered licensure or certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in North Carolina.

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

  • NBCOT certification preferred.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Highly organized and detail oriented.

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
