Job summary

Yanceyville Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Yanceyville, NC, is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join a compassionate, interdisciplinary team. The role involves delivering comprehensive OT services to residents under OTR supervision, documenting progress, and coordinating with the rehab team to meet patient needs.

The successful candidate will hold an accredited BA/ASOT with AOTA recognition and a current state OT license, with SNF experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BA or Associate degree in Occupational Therapy recognized by AOTA.
• Current OT license/registration in the state, as applicable.
• SNF experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive OT treatment under supervision and per state guidelines.
• Identify suitable patients and refer to rehab as needed.
• Document daily participation and progress with co-signature by the OTR.
• Obtain MD orders for treatments, re-certifications, and discharges.
• Assist with documentation requirements per state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings when required.
• Serve as rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Assist with scheduling patients accordingly.
• Complete billing logs and bill ethically for OT services.
• Cover other therapists’ caseload during absences.
• Supervise junior staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff, patients and families.
• Provide in-service education to rehab staff, facility staff, hospitals and community.
• Comply with facility policies and patient confidentiality.
• Report to work on time and maintain a professional image.
• Adhere to productivity requirements and submit reports timely.
• Promote positive relations within the team and with clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
• Comply with HR policies re: lunch, sick time, and time off.
• Adhere to other facility policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• 1.Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Occupational Therapy that is recognized by the AOTA.
• 2.Holds current license and/or registration in the state (as applicable).
• 3.SNF experience preferred

Job Responsibilities:

• 1.Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of an OTR and according to state guidelines.

• 12.Maintain professional relationship with co-workers, facility staff, patients and patient families.
• 13.Provide in-service education regarding patient care or occupational therapy services to rehab staff, facility staff, hospitals and/or community as needed.
• 14.Comply with all facility policies and procedures.
• 15.Comply with patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights.
• 16.Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours, and project a professional image at all times.
• 17.Adhere to productivity requirements, complete productivity reports and submit in a timely manner.
• 18.Maintain a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating and communicating in a professional manner so as to foster positive relations with customers, clients, co-workers and managers
• 19.Perform all other duties assigned by the department supervisor, lead therapist or regional manager.
• 20.Comply with all Facility HR policies re: lunch, sick and time off notification.
• 21.Adhere to any and all other Facility written and oral policies and procedures.
