Job summary

Sevita's NeuroRestorative division in Fresno is seeking a Full Time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to administer therapy under the plan of a licensed OT. You will work with program participants, document sessions, and perform therapeutic exercises in a supportive, team-based setting.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and adherence to confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Licensed as COTA in California.
• Graduate of an accredited COTA program with A.A.S. in OT.
• Comfortable working with patients with complex needs.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented with ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Administer occupational therapy treatments per plan developed by a licensed OT.
• Ensure participants receive scheduled therapy and document sessions.
• Perform active, passive, and resistive exercises as appropriate.
• Demonstrate knowledge of indications/contraindications of modalities.
• Fabricate splints under supervision and teach participants splint wear and care.
• Train participants in homebound and community settings including endurance training.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment and therapeutic exercise treatments.
• Coordinate care with staff and participate in treatment planning with the team.

NeuroRestorative, a part of the Sevita family, provides rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord and medically complex injuries, illnesses and other challenges. • Administer occupational therapy treatment to program participants according to a program plan developed by a licensed occupational therapist.
• Assure all program participants receive scheduled occupational therapy treatments; document therapy sessions.

• Fabricate appropriate splints under instruction of occupational therapist and instruct program participants in splint wear and care.

• Maintain a good working knowledge of occupational therapy equipment and therapeutic exercise treatments.
• Confer with staff members and other health care members to exchange, discuss, and evaluate program participant information for modifying and coordinating current treatment program; participate in treatment planning with trans-disciplinary team as requested.
• Adhere to ethics of confidentiality.
• Take inventory of current occupational therapy equipment and confer with department regarding status and future needs; request supplies as needed.Maintain or check daily billing logs for program participants.
• Follow daily scheduling patterns, communicate with staff, and adjust schedules as needed for flexibility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and graduate of an accredited COTA program with A.A.S. in O.T.
• Comfortable working with patients with complex needs.
• Licensed as COTA in California.
