Margate Health and Rehabilitation, located in beautiful Jefferson, North Carolina, is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our dedicated team of caregivers. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to deliver therapeutic services to residents and assist in implementing treatment plans aimed at improving residents' ability to perform activities of daily living and achieve maximum independence.

Key Responsibilities:
- Resident Care: Carry out therapy interventions focusing on improving residents’ abilities in activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
- Treatment Implementation: Provide hands-on assistance during therapy sessions, using exercises, activities, and assistive devices to promote functional abilities.
- Progress Monitoring: Observe and document residents’ progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the Occupational Therapist.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of all therapy sessions, including treatment details, resident progress, and modifications made to treatment plans.
- Resident & Family Education: Instruct residents and their families on continuing therapeutic exercises and the use of adaptive equipment at home, as guided by the Occupational Therapist.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Occupational Therapist, nursing staff, and other rehabilitation professionals to coordinate care and meet treatment goals.
- Compliance: Adhere to facility policies and state/federal regulations to ensure proper care standards are maintained.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in North Carolina.
- Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure in North Carolina.
- Preferably 1-2 years of experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting, but new graduates will be considered.
- Skills include strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team, and a compassionate, resident-focused approach to care.
