Job summary

Lions Gate seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support rehabilitative services for residents with functional impairments. You will collaborate with occupational therapists to plan and implement programs that restore daily living skills, and monitor patient progress.

You will educate residents and families for home programs and maintain accurate records, with some weekend shifts as census requires.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited therapy program
• 1-2 years of related experience
• Ability to utilize electronic medical record (EMR)

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, or administer programs that restore or enhance performance in individuals with functional impairments
• Monitor patients' performance in therapy activities and provide encouragement
• Instruct patients and families in home programs, basic living skills, or the use and care of adaptive equipment
• Observe and record patients' progress, attitudes, and behavior in client records
• Assist occupational therapists with implementing treatment plans
• Report to supervisors on patients' progress and behavior
• Perform clerical duties
• Comply with professional, ethical and legal standards
• Some weekend work required based on census
