Responsibilities

  • Follow all state-specific laws governing occupational therapy in home care under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
  • Perform only procedures you are qualified and trained for, and recommend changes in the plan of care to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Instruct and assist patients in evidence-based treatments within your scope and according to state laws.
  • Observe, record, and report patient responses and condition changes to the supervising OT, nurse, or physician. Coordinate care with the healthcare team as needed.
  • Educate patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members about therapy within your scope.
  • Visit patients within your agency's service area and nearby LHC agencies as needed.

Education and Experience

  • Current OTA licensure in Texas
  • Current CPR certification
  • Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle
