Job summary

HealthPro Heritage in Randolph, NJ is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for a PRN opportunity at our assisted living community. You will support the OT team, deliver individualized therapy, and help residents improve daily living skills.

This role emphasizes patient care, documentation, and collaboration with interdisciplinary staff. We offer a stable benefits package and a competitive hourly rate of $40–$42, with no evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• NBCOT Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Current state licensure (or eligibility) to practice as a COTA.
• Experience in an OT setting preferred, new graduates welcome.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care & Treatment Implementation: Deliver individualized therapy based on treatment plans developed by the OT, including activities to improve daily living skills.
• Progress Monitoring & Documentation: Track and document patient progress, maintain accurate records, and report changes to the OT.
• Collaboration & Education: Work with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic care and educate patients and families on exercises and adaptive equipment.
• Therapeutic Activities & Support: Lead or assist patients with exercises and daily living activities to promote independence.

• Collaboration & Patient Education: Work with interdisciplinary teams (e.g., PT, OT, nursing) to provide holistic care, and educate patients and families on therapeutic exercises, adaptive equipment, and strategies for independence.
• Therapeutic Activities & Support: Lead or assist patients with exercises, activities of daily living, and other therapeutic tasks, while creating a positive and supportive environment to encourage patient engagement.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an accredited school.
• Certification: Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
• Licensure: Current state licensure (or eligibility) to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Experience: Previous experience in an occupational therapy setting (hospital, clinic, school, etc.) is preferred, but new graduates are also encouraged to apply.
