Title: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant - COTA

Compensation

Pay Range: $25.00-$35.00 Per HR

Description

Support delivery of occupational therapy services to students with visual impairments and multiple disabilities.

Implement individualized therapy plans to enhance students' independence in fine motor skills and activities of daily living.

Facilitate functional mobility within the classroom and school environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct occupational therapy services as per students' Individualized Education Program (IEP).

Adapt activities to meet sensory and physical needs of students.

Assist in developing and modifying classroom materials for better student access.

Document student progress and maintain accurate service records.

Collaborate with teachers and service providers to support functional performance.

Support students in developing independence in daily living activities.

Assist with environmental modifications for accessibility and safety.

Qualifications

Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

Current licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.

Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

Experience working with children, preferably in a special education or school-based setting.

Preferred: Experience with students who are blind or visually impaired and those with multiple disabilities.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
