Job summary

St. Luke’s Health-Brazosport Hospital in Lake Jackson, TX, is seeking a PRN Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join Lifepoint Rehabilitation.

You’ll work with the care team to monitor patient progress and educate families, helping deliver compassionate, high-quality care across shifts. Requirements include an Associate degree from an OTA program, current Texas OTA license, AOTA certification, and CPR as required.

Qualifications

• Must have AOTA certification and Texas OTA license.
• Graduate of an accredited OTA program with an Associate degree.
• CPR certification when required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate patient progress to the supervisor and care team.
• Assist with patient scheduling and daily charting.
• Document care in accordance with regulatory and payer requirements.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized work area.
• Adhere to company codes and applicable laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

How you'll contribute

A Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)who excels in this role:

• Communicate patient progress or problems to supervisor and other team members; instruct patient's family or nursing staff in follow-through programs
• Assist with patient scheduling and post charges daily to patient records
• Document patient care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer and accrediting requirements
• Maintain equipment and work area in a safe and clean condition
• Handle job responsibilities in accordance with the standards of the Company's Code of Business Conduct, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, appropriate professional standards and applicable state/federal laws
• Other duties as assigned

What we're looking for

Applicants must have certification from the American Occupational Therapist Association (AOTA). Additional requirements include:

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program culminating in an Associate's degree
• Current and valid state OTA license or certificate of practice or equivalent in the states where services are rendered
• CPR certification (when required)
