Summary:

Under supervision of an Occupational Therapist, provides treatment to occupational therapy patients to help regain physical abilities, increase skills, and promote independence, along with related clerical duties.

Qualifications:

Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Education & Qualification Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in occupational therapy assisting from an accredited college.
  • Current state license/registration as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing and implementing patient care plans.
  • Provide daily care and guide patients through prescribed exercises.
  • Apply treatments/modalities as prescribed and ensure competency.
  • Assist in ADL skills retraining and perform therapeutic activities.
  • Monitor patient condition and document progress.
  • Refer patients for re-evaluation and communicate with therapists.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide staff training.
  • Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment.
  • Follow infection control protocols.
  • Schedule patients and manage daily census.
