Summary:

Under supervision of an Occupational Therapist, provides treatment to patients to help regain physical abilities, increase skills, and promote independence, while performing related clerical duties.

Qualifications:

Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Education & Qualification Requirements:

Associate's degree in occupational therapy assisting from an accredited college and current state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing and implementing patient care plans.
  • Provide daily care for patients and guide them through prescribed exercises and therapies.
  • Apply therapeutic modalities as prescribed and competent.
  • Assist in ADL skills retraining and perform therapeutic activities.
  • Monitor and record patient responses and progress.
  • Communicate regularly with Occupational Therapists and participate in team meetings.
  • Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment.
  • Participate in staff training and development, and adhere to ethical standards and organizational policies.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.
