Job Summary:

Under supervision of an Occupational Therapist, provides treatment to help patients regain physical abilities, increase skills, and promote independence, along with clerical duties.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree in occupational therapy assistant from an accredited college; current state license/registration as a COTA.

Essential Duties:
  • Assist in developing and implementing patient care plans.
  • Perform daily therapy assignments and care for patients.
  • Guide patients through prescribed exercises and modalities.
  • Assist in ADL skills retraining and perform therapeutic activities.
  • Monitor patient condition and document progress.
  • Coordinate with Occupational Therapists and participate in team meetings.
  • Provide staff training on adaptive equipment and treatment plans.
  • Maintain treatment areas and equipment, follow safety and infection control protocols.
  • Participate in scheduling, documentation, and organizational tasks.
  • Adhere to ethical practices and foster teamwork.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.
