Job summary

Vineyard Post Acute in Petaluma, CA is seeking a part-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to deliver direct patient treatments under licensed OT supervision.

You’ll document progress, follow care plans, support discharge planning, and collaborate with a caring therapy team to improve residents' quality of life. Knowledge of Casamba or PointClickCare is a plus; California licensure is required; flexible schedules offered.

Qualifications

• CA license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant is required.
• Strong documentation and computer skills with electronic health records.
• Maintains license in good standing and completes CE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatments as directed by the supervising OT and support rehab services.
• Document daily treatment notes and progress per state and OT Board requirements.
• Follow physician treatment plan and facility protocols for each resident.
• Assist with training Restorative Aides as needed and educate team.
• Communicate patient progress to the OT and care team regularly.
• Participate in in‑service training and interdisciplinary meetings.
• Educate patients, families, and nursing staff on maintenance programs.
• Support discharge planning and ensure a safe, organized therapy space.

Role Summary

The COTA provides direct patient treatments under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist and supports the delivery of high‑quality rehab services.

Essential Duties

• Provide treatments as directed by the Occupational Therapist
• Document daily treatment notes, progress notes, and recertification documentation per state and OT Board requirements
• Follow the physician treatment plan and facility protocols
• Assist with training Restorative Aides as needed
• Communicate patient progress and concerns to the supervising OT and care team
• Participate in in‑service training and interdisciplinary meetings
• Educate patients, families, and nursing staff on maintenance programs and caregiver strategies
• Support discharge planning
• Help maintain a clean and organized therapy space
• Report equipment issues to ensure safe, proper functioning
• Build positive, professional relationships with residents, families, and staff

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant in the State of California
• Strong documentation and computer skills (Casamba, PointClickCare preferred)
• Meets all continuing education requirements and maintains license in good standing
