Responsibilities

• Provide treatments as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Document daily treatment notes, progress notes, and recertification documentation per state and OT Board requirements.
• Follow the physician treatment plan and facility protocols.
• Assist with training Restorative Aides as needed.
• Communicate patient progress and concerns to the supervising OT and care team.
• Participate in in-service training and interdisciplinary meetings.
• Educate patients, families, and nursing staff on maintenance programs and caregiver strategies.
• Support discharge planning.
• Maintain a clean, organized therapy space.
• Report equipment issues to ensure safe functioning.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.

Role Summary

The COTA provides direct patient treatments under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist and supports the delivery of high-quality rehab services.

Essential Duties
