Job summary

YAD Healthcare's Asheboro Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Asheboro, NC is seeking a COTA to provide comprehensive occupational therapy services under the supervision of an OTR. You will assess patients, implement treatment plans, and document progress in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate holds an OT degree from an accredited program, current NC licensure, and SNF experience is preferred. We offer excellent rates, yearly raises, a comprehensive benefits package, and a flexible schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current license/registration in NC.
• SNF experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of an OTR.
• Assist OT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab.
• Document patient’s daily participation and progress with co-signature of the OTR.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, re-certifications and discharges.
• Assist with other documentation requirements as indicated and according to state guidelines.
• Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients as indicated.
• Complete billing logs and bill patients ethically and accurately for OT services.
• Cover other therapists’ patient caseload during absence as necessary.
• Supervise junior COTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff and families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care to rehab staff and hospitals as needed.

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Occupational Therapy that is recognized by the AOTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state NC.

Job Responsibilities:

• Adhere to productivity requirements, complete productivity reports and submit in a timely manner.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating and communicating in a professional manner so as to foster positive relations with customers, clients, co-workers and managers
• Perform all other duties assigned by the department supervisor, lead therapist or regional manager.
• Comply with all Facility HR policies re: lunch, overtime, sick and time off notification.
• Adhere to any and all other Facility written and oral policies and procedures.
