Job summary

StoneBridge Senior Living in Conway, AR is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support nursing staff in delivering compassionate care to residents with various needs. The role emphasizes safe patient handling, daily living assistance, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

Successful candidates will have CNA training or certification, a high school diploma or GED, CPR/BLS when possible, and experience in long-term care.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Aide in good standing or CNA trainee with state-approved program
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• At least one year of CNA experience in long-term care preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive services to nursing staff and residents as assigned
• Assist residents with activities of daily living per care plans and policies
• Assist with safe patient handling, transfers, and positioning
• Coordinate dining room services and assist with meals
• Record intake of nutrition and monitor weight changes as directed
• Monitor skin condition and report changes to nurse
• Support toileting programs and document progress
• Maintain flow sheets and communicate issues to supervisor

Responsibilities And Duties

• Provides supportive services to nurse(s) and other staff as needed and performs duties as assigned.


• Assists resident with or performs activities of daily living for resident in accordance with care plans and established policies and procedures.


• Assists resident with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc.


• Coordinates dining room services at assigned mealtimes, including set-up and clean-up, meal tray delivery, feeding assistance, and documentation of meal intake.


• Delivers nutritional supplements to residents at assigned times and provides assistance as necessary to ensure intake. Documents intake accordingly.


• Assists with weighing residents according to facility policy, and records weight in designated locations. Reports weight changes to nurse and supervisor.


• Assists with tracking the condition of the resident’s skin. Reports any presence of pressure areas, skin breakdown or skin tears to nurse and supervisor.


• Assists nursing staff in carrying out toileting program activities.


• Completes flow sheets daily to indicate that the specified task was done. Documents the progress of each resident as directed by supervisor.


• Keeps nurse and supervisor informed of factors that interfere with being able to perform the work as assigned (i.e., resident refusal, reassigned to nursing unit).


• Reports changes in a resident’s condition to the resident’s nurse and supervisor.

Qualifications And Skills

• Certified Nursing Aide in good standing with the certification board or is a graduate of a state-approved nursing assistant training program and passed a state-approved competency examination (written and skills) within 120 days of employment REQUIRED


• High School Graduate/GED preferred.


• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.


• At least one year of experience as a certified nursing assistant in long-term care preferred.


• Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting with residents, families, and staff members.
