Job summary

Fowler Care Center in Fowler, CA is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to provide routine nursing care to memory-impaired residents in a secure, 46-bed facility.

You will work under the direction of the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator, performing duties from making rounds every two hours to assisting with ADLs, hydration and nutrition, and personal care, while maintaining high quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a school for nursing assistants or have a license as a certified nursing assistant.
• Minimum of 6 months experience as a CNA or clinical experience during CNA certification.
• Must possess a sincere desire to serve the ill, aged and infirm.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, family, visitors and staff.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm toward residents.
• Must be in good health and emotionally stable.
• Must relate to ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset residents.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties per facility policies and nursing care procedures.
• Make resident rounds at shift start and every two hours thereafter.
• Verify resident identification before care or meals.
• Make beds, clean bedside and overbed tables.
• Provide pericare, ADL assistance and showers.
• Assist with hydration and nutrition of residents.
• Other related duties as directed by Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses or Administrator.

A nursing assistant responsible for providing routine nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures and as may be directed by the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses or Administrator, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled in a school for nursing assistants or have a license as a certified nursing assistant.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: GENERAL

• Perform all duties as assigned and in accordance with facility's established policies and procedures, nursing care procedures and safety rules and regulations.
• Make resident rounds at the beginning of each shift and every two hours thereafter to administer quality nursing care.
• Verify the identification of a resident before administering nursing care or serving food, to assure that appropriate care is being provided to the correct resident.
