Job summary

PruittHealth Coastal Central is seeking a Transportation Aide / Certified Nursing Assistant to safely transport patients to appointments, therapies, and activities while providing hands-on CNA support during transfers and mobility tasks.

The role emphasizes safe lifting, courteous communication with patients and families, and accurate documentation of transport logs, with training provided and a strong team environment focused on quality care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; CPR certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (MVRS required).
• 1 year of experience in skilled nursing, senior living, home health, or patient transportation.
• Familiarity with wheelchair lifts, securements, and mobility devices.
• Ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients safely.
• Excellent communication and service skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients and residents to medical appointments, treatments, and approved outings
• Assist individuals entering and exiting vehicles using proper lifting, transfer, and mobility techniques
• Deliver hands-on CNA support including ADLs, personal care, and ambulation as needed
• Maintain a positive, welcoming, and caring environment during all transport interactions
• Complete transportation logs, mileage documentation, and schedules accurately and on time
• Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and safety for all transport vehicles
• Demonstrate adherence to infection control, safety regulations, and PruittHealth policies
• Partner closely with nursing and administrative teams to coordinate smooth transport operations
