Job summary

NRMC is seeking a CNA Supervisor to oversee and support certified nursing assistants at The Courtyard of Natchitoches. The role includes supervising staff, coordinating CNA staffing, assigning daily tasks, and participating in the on-call rotation to ensure quality resident care.

The successful candidate will have a Louisiana CNA certification, a high school diploma, and ACLS/BLS within 3 months of hire. This full-time position supports a patient-centered environment and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current Louisiana CNA certification is required.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (ACLS/BLS) certification within 3 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the supervision of CNAs.
• Assist with staffing and call-ins for CNAs.
• Assist with daily assignments for CNA personnel.
• Assist with transportation when needed.
• Explains assignments when necessary.
• Joins the on-call rotation.
• M ake daily assignments for the feeding program.
• Check CNAs’ charting for accuracy (ADL coding, percentages).
• Ensure CNAs have supplies to perform duties.
• Report tardiness to DON and assist CNA staff meetings.
• Respond to resident complaints regarding bedside care.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Assists with the supervision of CNAs.
2. Assists with staffing and call-ins for CNAs.
3. Assists with daily assignments for CNA personnel.
4. Assists with transportation when needed.
5. Explains assignments when necessary.
6. Joins the on-call rotation.
7. Makes daily assignments for the feeding program.
8. Checks CNAs’ charting for accuracy, I.E. ADL coding, percentages.
9. Checks CNAs’ assignments to make sure they have been charted (not in red).
10. Monitors residents’ rooms for cleanliness as well as whirlpools and showers.
11. Checks residents’ rooms to see that nursing care by CNAs is appropriate.
12. Assures that CNAs have the supplies they need to perform their duties.
13. Reports consistent tardiness to DON.
14. Assists with CNA staff meetings.
15. Responds to resident complaints regarding bedside care.
16. Assists with replacement of personnel when someone calls in.
17. Splits assignments when unable to replace personnel.
18. Helps CNAs with lifting and transferring residents as needed.
19. Attends in-services as scheduled.
20. Assists DON in annual and 90-day evaluations for CNAs.
21. Treats residents and their families with respect and dignity.
22. Exhibits genuine interest in and appreciation of adults in later years of life.
23. Ensures that Bowel/Bladder documentation is complete.
24. Monitors for completion of all CNA tasks.

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Current CNA certification in the State of Louisiana for Long Term Care Facilities.
3. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within three (3) months of hire date.

Preferred Education and Experience

1. Five years of CNA experience preferred.
