Saint Vincent College seeks a part-time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for Saint Vincent Monastery Infirmary to provide basic resident care and support under supervision. The role involves daily patient care tasks, safety, and adherence to facility policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include bathing, feeding assistance, skin and wound care, vital signs, mobility support, and collaboration with nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Bathing residents in bed, tub, or shower
• Skin care to maintain integrity and prevent ulcers
• Toileting assistance including bedpan, urinal, or toilet
• Grooming: shampoo, nail care, shaving
• Oral hygiene and denture care
• Assist with dressing and undressing
• Assist with feeding residents needing help
• Measure and record intake and output
• Weigh and record weights as required
• Turn and reposition residents every 2 hours or as needed
• Use proper transfer techniques
• Assist with safe use of medical equipment (canes, walkers, Hoyer lift, side rails, oxygen)
• Keep rooms and work areas clean and supplied
• Make and change beds (occupied and unoccupied)
• Transport residents, supplies, and equipment as needed
• Assist nurses and other personnel as needed
• Ambulate residents with minimal assistance
• Perform simple non-sterile dressings
• Perform skin assessments and notify RN/Charge Nurse of abnormalities
• Apply heat or cold compresses as directed by RN/Charge Nurse
• Answer call lights promptly and take action
• Collect and label specimens (urine, stool, sputum)
• Measure and record vitals and report variations to RN/Charge Nurse
• Provide light laundry for residents
• Participate in shift-to-shift reports
• Immediately report changes in resident condition or incidents to RN/Charge Nurse
• Maintain confidentiality of all healthcare staff and documentation

Saint Vincent Monastery Infirmary seeks applications for a part‑time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

Primary Function

Provides basic care for the residents and necessary unit tasks, and will function in compliance with applicable health care standards, policies, and procedures; under the direction of the nursing supervisor and reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Bathing (bed, tub, shower or sponge bath)
• Skin Care – maintain each resident’s skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers and other damage by changing incontinent residents, turning, repositioning immobile residents and applying moisturizers or ordering preparation to frail skin.
• Toileting – bedpan, urinal, commode, and/or toilet.
• Grooming – shampoo, nail care, and shaving.
• Oral Hygiene – teeth or denture care.
• Assist with dressing and undressing.
• Assist with feeding of residents who need help.
• Measure and record intake and output.
• Weigh and record weights as required.
• Assist in turning and positioning of patients every 2 hours and as needed.
• Use proper transfer techniques.
• Demonstrate appropriate knowledge for safe use of medical equipment (canes, walkers, Hoyer lift, side rails, and oxygen).
