Summary: The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) assists residents with activities of daily living according to their individualized care plan. This position participates in the THRIVE program, which offers education and a Workforce Coach during the first year of employment.

Responsibilities:

• Education: Must be New York State Certified or deemed "waived"
• Experience: Clinical experience from an approved 100-hour nurse aide course
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to speak, read, and write English
• Effective communication skills, including approach, tone, respectfulness, and nonverbal cues
• Ability to assess the aging process, including height/weight, skin integrity, ADLs, bowel and bladder control

Working Conditions:

• Lifts, pulls, and pushes residents; stands and walks most of the day
• Normal heat, lighting, and safe environment typical of most office jobs
• Intermittent exposure to physical discomforts
