Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking a Nursing Assistant (NAC) for a 1.0 FTE, fully onsite role. You will support patient flow, assist with vital signs, ADLs, and transport, and help prepare rooms for care teams while adhering to HIPAA and privacy standards.

Requirements include WA Nursing Assistant certification, a current BLS card, and EMR experience. The position offers comprehensive benefits and a competitive hourly wage with on-site work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification as a Nursing Assistant in the state of Washington required.
• Current BLS AHA Health Provider Card (or equivalent) and renewal every two years.
• Knowledge of human growth and development to modify care to age and development.
• Physically able to perform tasks (walking, standing, lifting, etc.).
• Able to multitask, prioritize and problem solve.
• Able to communicate clearly (written and spoken).
• Able to follow directions and seek help when needed.
• Able to identify learning needs and plan accordingly.
• Able to respond to emergencies per protocol.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient flow by positioning patients and families and coordinating with care teams.
• Provide patient care activities including vital signs, ECG, ADLs and patient transport.
• Operate patient lift equipment and maintain safety precautions.
• Document vital signs and patient information per policy.
• Assist with procedures and support healthcare providers as directed.
• Maintain HIPAA privacy for patients and staff and handle information securely.
