Job summary

Hibbard Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine seeks a CNA-Med Tech to join a strong clinical team. The role administers medications to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse, contributing to each resident's highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

Responsibilities include documenting treatments, monitoring vitals, and reporting changes, with flexibility across day, evening, and night shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of state-approved CNA program and Maine CNA Registry.
• Successful completion of Nursing Assistant-Medication training program.

Responsibilities

• Administers routinely scheduled oral and topical medications according to physician order via scanning per policy to assigned residents.
• Monitors and records vital signs according to physician orders and standards to practice.
• Reports any unusual or unwanted medication side effects to Charge Nurse.
• Maintains accurate documentation of all medications and treatments based on policy and best practices.
• Assists Charge Nurse with returning, re-ordering, and destroying medications per facility policy.
• Notifies Charge Nurse of any outdates medication and any projected shortage of medications or supplies.
• Makes suggestions to resolve problems or streamline the medication system to Charge Nurse.

CNA-Med Tech Job Summary

As part of a strong clinical team, providing amazing care and service to our Residents is the primary responsibility of our Med Tech. The purpose of this position is to administer medications to each resident ensuring they receive the necessary care and services to attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being through the comprehensive assessment and plan of care. The CNA-Med Tech works under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse as assigned and by State/ Federal regulations and facility procedures and reports observations to the licensed nurse on duty; maintains clean and orderly equipment for medication administration. Reports to Charge Nurse.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED
• Must be able interact our computer-based Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
• Must be a graduate of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program and on the Maine CNA Registry
• Successful completion of a state-approved Nursing Assistant-Medication training program
