Job summary

Providence Swedish Issaquah is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide general secretarial and clerical support in patient care areas while assisting nursing staff and coordinating unit activities.

You will interact with patients, families and physicians, assist with patient care under RN supervision, and help monitor alarms and oxygen saturation readings. The role includes orientation support for new staff and duties assigned by charge nurse or nurse manager, on-site at Swedish Issaquah.

Qualifications

• Washington Nursing Assistant Certification required at hire.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association required at hire.

Assists the nursing staff in coordinating the activity of the unit. Assists in the delivery of patient care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. May be responsible for setting alarms and observing oxygen saturation readings. Oversees the orderliness of work areas and orders forms and other clerical supplies. Assists with orientation of new staff and performs other duties as assigned by charge nurse or nurse manager.

Required Qualifications

• Upon hire: Washington Nursing Assistant Certification License

• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months of Acute care experience.

• 1 year of Skilled nursing experience.

• Acute or skilled experience will be waived if the applicant has demonstrated experience involving customer service in healthcare or other related industry and completion of an acute care NAC course.

• Acute or skilled experience will be waived for students currently enrolled and in good standing at a traditional registered nursing program approved by the Nursing Quality Care Commission. At a minimum, satisfactory completion of one academic term (quarter or semester) that included clinical patient care experience is required.

• Experience using electronic medical record.
