Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health System's Harnett Hospital in Lillington seeks a Nursing Assistant II for the Emergency Department. You will assist in admitting patients, respond to needs, and support the nursing care plan under supervision.

Candidates must have a Nursing Assistant II certification and NC registration; a Nursing Assistant I with the Division of Facility Services is required. Strong English, patient relations, and basic computer skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Must have a Nursing Assistant II certification and NC registration.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Nursing Assistant I registration with the Division of Facility Services required.
• Experience as Nursing Assistant I preferred.
• English language proficiency and good guest relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in admission of patients to the unit and orient to routine and equipment.
• Respond to patient needs with direct assistance or by reporting to a nurse.
• Assist in implementing nursing care plans and delegated tasks.
• Maintain patient safety and proper use of equipment and supplies.
• Access medication/supply room for patient care items and keep environment clean.
• Participate in cost containment and accurate charging for services.
• Engage in Education and Performance Improvement activities; perform additional skills such as phlebotomy or EKG as unit competency allows.
