Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC seeks a Nursing Assistant to support the 7 South Neurosurgical/Orthopedic Unit. You will assist with admissions, patient care, safety, and supplies in a fast-paced hospital setting. The ideal candidate holds CNA certification, BLS, and NC registry, with excellent guest relations and teamwork.

Training and growth opportunities are provided. This is a full-time, on-site position with variable shifts and exposure to blood and infection control

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant certification is required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current registration with NC Nursing Assistant Registry.
• High school graduate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assists in admission of patients to the unit and orientation to the unit and equipment.
• Responds to patient needs with direct assistance or by reporting needs to the appropriate person.
• Assists with nursing plan of care by carrying out delegated tasks.
• Maintains patient safety and proper use of equipment and supplies.
• Accesses medication/supply room to retrieve patient care items.
• Keeps patient environment clean and stocked; supports cost containment.
• Participates in educational and Performance Improvement activities.
• Maintains unit skills and performs waived testing per unit competency.
