Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide and document daily living assistance and maintain a clean, safe environment under the guidance of a registered nurse. In Assisted Living units, you will assist residents with daily activities and report status changes to the Charge Nurse.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, completion of the NAI program, NA I registry listing, and Medication Safety - AME. A one-year exposure to long-term care or assisted living is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, required.
• One year preferred.
• One year Assisted Living facilities only: experience in long-term care or assisted living, required.
• Completion of NAI program, required.
• Listed with the nurse aide registry as an NA I, required.
• Medication Safety - AME, required.
• NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions within 3 months of hire, required.

Responsibilities

• Provides and documents assistance to patients with activities of daily living under supervision of a registered nurse.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living in Assisted Living units and reports changes to the Charge Nurse.

What We Offer

Provides and documents assistance to patients with activities of daily living and maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse. Assisted Living units only: Responsible for assisting residents with activities of daily living as scheduled and reporting any change in status to the Charge Nurse.

Shift / Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), including every other weekend. [Nights]

What You’ll Do

• Education:High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Experience:
  • One year preferred.
  • One year Assisted Living facilities only: experience working in long-term care or assisted living, required.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Completion of NAI program, required.
  • Listed with the nurse aide registry as an NA I, required.
  • Medication Safety - AME, required.
  • NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.
• Additional Skills (preferred):Basic computer skills for documentation.
