Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking a CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT - HEALTH UNIT COORDINATOR OC to join our WOUND team!

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)/ Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) is a member of the patient care team and is responsible for assisting with providing patient care under the general direction of a Registered Nurse. The CNA works within the Professional Practice Model of Aspirus Wausau Hospital. The Health Unit Coordinator provides support in patient care areas to visitors, patients, and staff in a professional and caring manner.

HOURS: Part-time/Benefit Eligible or .6 FTE; 48 hours bi-weekly; Day Shift only; no weekends or holidays.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience and completion of a nursing assistant course.
  • One year of experience as a nursing assistant in an acute care setting beneficial or previous work experience in a post-acute care setting or nursing home beneficial.
  • Prior listing on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry required with current registry recommended.
  • Knowledge of patient care standards and general office practices normally acquired through completion of a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and courses in computer applications and medical terminology.
  • Graduation from an accredited program for Health Unit Coordinators, or training/education to meet job requirements beneficial.
  • Two years’ experience as a Health Unit Coordinator beneficial.
  • Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
