Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI, is seeking a CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT - HEALTH UNIT COORDINATOR to join our MED/SURG ICU team!

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)/Health Unit Coordinator functions in two roles: as a service provider and as a member of the multidisciplinary care team. The role involves providing care support and service tasks, and as a Health Unit Coordinator, assisting professional and paraprofessional staff by performing clerical and receptionist duties.

HOURS: Supplemental or 0.1 FTE, 8 Hours Biweekly, Day/Night Rotation, Every 3rd Holiday, Every 3rd Weekend

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of patient care standards and general office practices, normally acquired through completion of a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent, along with a nursing assistant course.
  • Graduation from an accredited vocational technical adult education program for Health Unit Coordinators (VTAE) or an approved program, or equivalent training/education.
  • Two years’ experience as a nursing assistant in outpatient services is beneficial.
  • Two years’ experience as a Health Unit Coordinator is beneficial.
  • Prior listing on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry is required; current registry is recommended.
  • Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Courses in computer applications and medical terminology.
  • Annual continuing education (CEUs) as recommended by the Education Council.
  • Annual competencies as required by Aspirus and regulatory agencies.
