Certified Nursing Assistant - HD- Full Time Night

Job Summary

Assists professional nursing personnel in providing patient care in assigned areas. Supports patients with activities of daily living, personal care, emotional support, and performs clinical skills under the supervision of nursing staff.

Essential Functions
  • Communicates with and informs supervisor of unit activities, needs, and patient care issues.
  • Provides general nursing care including positioning, lifting, turning, assisting with equipment, hygiene, ambulation, pre/post-operative care, and maintaining a clean, comfortable environment.
  • Records vital signs, weight, height, and intake/output accurately and timely.
  • Prepares patient rooms for admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring all necessary equipment is available and the environment is maintained.
  • Assists with patient admission, transfer, discharge, and handling personal belongings.
  • Responds promptly to patient call lights, phones, and paging systems.
  • Performs routine treatments such as enemas and application of heat/cold appliances under RN supervision.
  • Assists with patient restraints, ensuring proper positioning and safety.
  • Supports Registered Nurses and LPNs with complex treatments.
  • Serves and removes meal trays, assists with feeding as needed.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Reliable attendance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and work under stress.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within and outside the department.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a nursing assistant course.
  • Current Nursing Assistant Certification.
  • BLS Certification.
  • Minimum six months' experience in an acute or long-term care facility.
