The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, provides delegated, age-appropriate care in a culturally sensitive manner. The CNA assists patients with tasks outlined in their clinical competency assessment, related to basic nursing skills, personal care, and basic restorative services. The CNA practices skills learned during training and certification or in basic nursing courses at an accredited school. The CNA may be asked to provide continuous safety observation. This role reports to the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager and the RNs on duty each shift. Other duties may be assigned.
High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Must have a State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification or be enrolled in a nursing program with documentation of successful completion of a basic nursing course from an accredited school, including one acute care medical/surgical clinical rotation. AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
