POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the registered nurse and in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of practice, the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) participates in patient care delivery. The role includes providing direct clinical and support services to patients and families, contributing to the efficient operation of the care unit, and ensuring quality patient/family outcomes.

Position Details:

• Department: CMP 7
• Schedule: Full Time - 40 nights, nights with every other weekend and rotating holidays

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Clinical Practice: Under RN supervision, performs delegated patient care interventions within the scope of role, communicates patient status, and maintains accurate documentation.
2. Support Services: Provides support to meet patient, family, and staff needs, within role scope.
3. Work Rules & Competency: Acts professionally, participates in team activities, complies with policies, and maintains appropriate attire and confidentiality.
4. Environment & Supplies: Ensures a safe, clean environment, manages supplies, and disposes of waste properly.
5. Other Duties: Follows hospital values, infection control procedures, and performs additional assigned tasks.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support certification (or obtained within 90 days)
• Experience: At least one year as a nursing assistant in a hospital, current enrollment in a nursing program with clinical rotations, or completion of CNA or Medical Assistant training.
• Skills: Effective communication, basic math, computer skills, physical ability to perform job functions, and interpersonal skills.
