Job summary

Lucy Corr is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to join our care team in Virginia. You will provide basic nursing and personal care, assist residents with daily activities, monitor well-being, and report changes to the Charge Nurse.

This full-time role includes a $3,000 sign-on bonus and a supportive, resident-centered workplace. Required: High School Diploma or GED, Virginia CNA certification, completion of an approved NA program, and the ability to lift and assist residents as

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Knowledge of the general principles and practices of nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic nursing and personal care and assistance to residents.
• Assists with transporting residents to and from the dining area as needed.
• Assists residents with bedpans, urinals, adult briefs and bathroom hygiene as needed.
• Turns/re-positions residents that are confined in bed and assists with bed making.
• Assists with maintenance and storage of residents’ clothing and belongings.
• Takes and records residents’ vital signs.
• Cleans a variety of equipment.
• Empties soiled laundry bins and trash cans and performs other housekeeping functions.
• Performs range of motion exercises.
• Assists with feeding programs and monitors food and liquid intake for nutritional status.
• Informs Charge Nurse/Lead Nurse of change in residents’ conditions

Requirements

Knowledge and Skills

• Ability to interact with residents in a pleasant manner
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology
• Knowledge of the general principles and practices of nursing

Minimum Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current, unrestricted Virginia Certified Nursing Assistant Certification
• Completion of a recognized Nursing Assistant Education training program and current unrestricted Certified Nursing Assistant certification from the Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Nursing; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
• This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day.
• The employee must frequently lift or move objects and patients/residents weighing over 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
