Job summary

Froedtert Health seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Froedtert Men Falls Hospital. Under RN supervision, you will provide age-appropriate care, assist with basic nursing and personal care tasks, and perform safety observations on assigned shifts.

Experience with basic nursing care, and current Wisconsin CNA certification or enrollment in a nursing program are required, with BLS due within 90 days of hire. This is an on-site role with shifts that include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is required, or enrollment in a nursing program with documentation.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) or equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide delegated age-appropriate care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Assist patients with basic nursing skills, personal care, and basic restorative services.
• Observe safety and report changes to the nurse on duty.

The CNA assists patients with the tasks outlined in their clinical competency assessment related to basic nursing skills, personal care skills and basic restorative services. The CNA practices and performs what was taught during their CNA training and certification or learned during basic nursing courses at an accredited school for professional nurses. The CNA may be asked to provide continuous safety observation. This job reports to the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager of the assigned unit and the RNs on duty on each assigned shift. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION PREFERRED:

High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

LICENSURE REQUIRED:

State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is required, otherwise must be currently enrolled in a nursing program and able to provide documentation from an accredited school for professional nurses indicating successful completion of the basic nursing course which encompass all of the criteria noted by the State of Wisconsin administrative code and a minimum experience of one acute care medical/surgical clinical rotation. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
